After witnessing so much buzz over La Roche-Posay products amongst the beauty community, I thought i'd finally see what all the fuss was about and get myself a few products. I popped off to my local boots (love how these products can be bought in a drugstore) and bought this moisturiser (and the Effaclar K, will review in another post) in the 3 for 2 offer. I chose this product because I was specifically looking for a moisuriser with SPF, now ideally I would prefer a higher protection, however this has done the trick whilst the weathers been a bit cooler as it has such a thick and moisturising consistency, but ideally id be looking at a SPF 30 for spring.

The actual cream comes out in a greeny/blue color; I think this is mainly because this moisuriser is 'anti-redness' and so maybe this colour counteracts the redness on skin. Now I don’t have any brutal redness on my face, however my on one of my cheeks I have a pigmentation issue where my cheek stays red,  so this product just calms that cheek a little and makes my foundation look a lot more flawless and even.

I would suggest using this product over the colder months as its quite thick and durable, and you wouldn’t want to use it in the summer as you'd end up with such an oily t zone. This moistusier is okay, and does what it says on the tin, however I’m not sure whether I would re purchase it, as to be honest I think there are many other moisturisers for near enough the same price which may have a higher SPF and do more good for the skin. This product is priced at £9.00 which is reasonable, however a larger sized packaging wouldn’t go a miss.

This mascara is a recent purchase, and currently my most used product in my makeup bag. It is probably on par with rimmels scandal eyes, which was my previous favourite mascara. The brush is standard, with a plastic wand, it’s easy to grab every lash and create volume as well as length. The only downside about this product is it can leave your lashes with a few clumps, however I usually resolve this problem by separating them with a clean mascara wand. Maybelline, being famous for their amazing mascaras have scored again, and this is defiantly a top drugstore product for me ATM, I bought it when it was on offer for £5.99, a real bargain.

I’m not sure if there are many other girls out there who are like me and get sucked into buying makeup online, and when I say online I mean, more specifically, eBay, but I like to think im not the only one believing the product information. I often find that when I see a palette  with some amazing colours and for such an affordable price I just think 'ah well its only a fiver' and sometimes these products prevail, but more often that not, they are a little disapointing. There is something scary about buying random makeup products from across the globe, I mean this stuff will go on your face, and you have absolutely no clue what’s inside or what it could do to your skin.

I bought these two palettes from eBay a few months back, and have become quite indecisive when it comes to evaluating the outcome, I mean they hardly broke the bank. Ive always had a hankering after my own concealer palette, I just love the fact that there are so many different colours to use, and of course the covering colours (green, purple). This palate came from an online seller on eBay, and cost me around £4.00. I honestly, as expected had no clue as to how good they would be, what the ingredients were, and whether they would harm my skin.

Luckily however, they never broke me out, and I had been using them quite a bit, I only really used the tones that suited my skin colour, and they seemed to sort of do the job, however the pigmentation was sometimes a little off, and the finish left me a little dry. I also couldn’t use this palette around my eye area, as it seemed to give me wrinkles! which was unsurprisingly, not a good look. As for the concealing shades, the green was far too pigmented to be a 'cover-up' and then as soon as I applied foundation over the top, the green tone still shone through, which was very annoying. I still approach this palette now, however I think it was more the gimmick and the idea of owning a conceaor palette that excited me, but the actual product, is far from good.

The second item I bought, again from a far eastern online seller, was a blush palette. Now I have a few good points about this item, for starters the colours, I fell in love them as soon as I came across the item on ebay, every shade is divine and highly wearable. It included some peach and coral shades, pale pinks and bright pinks, every colour you would ever need in one palette. When it came to pigmentation, the score was 10/10, the colours came out beautiful on the skin, and I was starting to think that I had found my Holy Grail makeup palette. Until, a little later on in the day when I noticed that my blush had gone streaky, yes streaky, I had no idea why, all I can think of now is the ingredients, something in the product was making this happen- and this brings me back to un branded makeup, and the scary idea of not having a clue what would have caused it or how to prevent it.

However much I loved, and wanted to use this selection of blushes, I just couldn't risk the streaks happening again, however  it only really became streaky with the darker colours, and so the more softer tones I still use sometimes now.  It bugs me that however pretty and diving the exterior, its the interior, the ingredients that remain a mystery. This experience has taught me a lesson when it comes to buying makeup online, I don’t think this is the end of my ebay antics, but maybe i'll learnt to be less gullible when it comes to un branded makeup.

I bought this amazing blouse from Primark the other day, I've seen this item floating around the blogger community over the past few weeks and it seems to have become a huge hit with everyone already. I can already tell that we are going to see lots more from this type of design, it reminds me a lot of my mums china plate set- which is a little random, however I think its beautiful and has a lovely floaty shape to it. I think I bought it for around £12 but I’m not so certain, but I know its not over £15. I prefer to button the blouse to the top, to get that full collar effect, however I can also see it being fab as a sort of shawl with the buttons undone over a T-shirt, the possibility’s are endless, all I can say is this is a great item to come out of good old Primark, and I urge everyone to get down to their local store now and purchase it before they run out...

I bought these gorgeous leather trousers from republic's closing sale a few weeks back, instead of paying £32.00 I nabbed them for £25.00, which in my mind is a bit of a bargain as they are so yummy on the legs. I had been after a pair for a while, however others I’d tried on didn’t look right on my legs, and looked a bit bunchy so after weeks of scouring the shops, I found these and instantly fell in love. With zips up the sides of the ankle area, and a sort of paneling on the front, they are the perfect piece for both day and night, and have become a serious staple piece in my wardrobe ATM.

Topshops Cream Blush in 'Head over Heels'

After trying, testing and feeling slightly let down by the pigmentation of Revlon’s cream blush, I decided to venture out a bit further and try a cream blush from top shops makeup collection. Now top shop is known for its highly pigmented makeup, and I know that many other beauty writers will have already raved about this product, however I feel that it needs maybe one more review to big it up.

I bought this blush in the colour 'head over heels' which is a very pink toned blush with a hint of coral, it comes across quite bright in the packaging however on the cheek it gives of more of a flushed healthy finish rather than a nasty streak of red. This product is very pigmented, which is a pro as you only need to dab a little on the apple and then sweep up the cheek bone, it will also last you a long time if you do this.

One downside I've noticed form cream blushes however, is they seem to go very dirty, as you may see from the picture above the cream collects a sort of 'dust/dirt' if you like. I find that cream blushes work best when you apply with just your fingers, however this seems to attract dirt into the product, so if anyone knows of another way to apply (I tried a brush but that just doesn’t work) please let me know. Overall a fab product, I will probably pick up another shade in the near future, as they also had a lovely peach colour, which would be fab for spring/summer.
