New Years Resolutions

New Year Resolutions
Firstly, I would like to say a huge Happy New Year! and secondly, I’m not really a fan of making New Year resolutions, because like half the planet, I never carry any of them out, or at least I last about a fortnight, then its back on the usual bandwagon of knowing no one else has stuck by theirs and so, what’s the point? However this year I’m willing to try my hardest to stand by my guns and do my self-proud, at least for the first few months of the year. So here they are:
1.       Try my hardest at University. From starting university in September, I have been working my butt off for a solid 4 months, and come away with  a 1st and 2:1 in two modules from my first semester. I was very happy with this, but then of course coming home for Christmas meant my book would never see the light of day. However as soon as I get back to Leeds I will try to re visit my hardworking streak (which hardly ever occurs) throughout my 2012 university journey, and I will promise to make this year a great one for university studies and to make sure I keep up to date with all my modules.
2.       Eat healthier, or at least try too. The problem with me is, if I have to make a meal myself, I generally can’t be arsed. I’d rather spend my money on new clothes or nights out rather than expensive fruit and veg, and various pieces which create a healthy dish. Give me a packet of Doritos and dip and I’m happy. Being at university it’s hard to keep up a balanced diet. Because cooking isn’t something I’m known for, and buying food constantly is a pain, so ready meals are a must. But as its 2012 I will try and wriggle out of my bad habits and delve into the unknown that is the fruit and veg isle.
3.       Exercise (Pilates) so recently I’ve been noticing that I have become very unfit, to say the least. I ache most days even when doing nothing at all. I put this down to lack of stretching and exercise, and also lack of fresh air. I would like to make sure I run, Hit the gym, or even try Pilates a few times a week. I have achy joints and back, and I’ve hear Pilates basically cures this. So I will see if I can either sign up for a Pilate’s class, or choose the cheaper version and purchase a DVD, I have yet to decide.
4.       Make the most out of 2012. Is it just me, or did 2011 and every other year of our lives just literally fly by? I feel like as much as I enjoyed 2011 and it being such a great year, It’s been quick lived, I want to make sure I don’t take anything for granted in 2012 and just be appreciative of what I have, and the opportunity’s I have been offered. I want to be someone who is a pleasure to be around. I will try to let go of any negative thoughts and focus on the positives.

So, those are my New Year’s Resolutions, what are yours?
